Creating a Computer Based Training Course

To create a Computer Based Training (CBT) course for Education Tracking, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Education Tracking Configuration section, select the Computer Based Training page.

  2. Enter a unique Code and Description to identify this CBT record.

  3. From the menu, select whether this CBT is Scorm, Vendor or Direct. The option selected here determines the other fields required for configuration.

    • If the Scorm option is selected, enter the Scorm Manifest Location, to establish the network path to launch this CBT.

      Note:

There is no validation on this field, so be sure to enter a valid path.

    • If the Vendor option is selected, enter the Vendor, the Vendor Form and the External CBT Course information in the appropriate fields.

    • If the Direct option is selected, enter the URL to link to the site of a third-party CBT.

  4. In the Education Tracking Configuration section, select the Course/Competency page.

  5. Enter the required information on the General page.

  6. The Minimum Score field is required when setting up a CBT course. Enter the minimum score the employee must achieve to pass this course.

  7. In the CBT Enabled field enter Yes.

  8. In the Computer Based Training Code field, select the code previously set up in the Computer Based Training configuration screen for this course.

  9. Complete the configuration for the Course/Competency.

    • If this course/competency is being set up only as a CBT, some of the Section options do not apply, such as Instructors, Locations, and Resources. These sections do not need to be completed.

    • If this course/competency is set up to be either a CBT or regular class, then these sections should be completed.
